Google ads: What are they? And how do you go about them?

Birthed in the year 1996 as a mere research project, today Google has grown into a dominant industrial force to be reckoned with.

I mean if you think about it, your life quite literally revolves around the firm (If you constantly spend your time on the internet that is)

Are you lost and can’t find your way out of a location? There’s Google maps!

Do you want to look up that strange word you’ve never heard of? Google chrome it!

Are you a business wanting to advertise your products/ services? Google ads to the rescuuueee!

Today however, we will discuss that third, overly excited point.

If you are a rookie, fill your coffee mug to the brim, get cozy and let’s get started.

What is a Google ad?

In a nutshell, they are a paid online advertising platform powered by Google, wherein businesses display product or service descriptions, sales information, videos and more.

It is based on a robust PPC or pay-per-click model and has been in the system for 18 years now.

What can it be used for?

Google ads come packed with benefits that allow business to stay on top of their game.

Few of those are:

Performance Trackers

Businesses that have used the tool, get to check and track how well their ads have performed. They can use this information to push better written ads or work on the same framework if it has worked successfully.

In addition they can also get insights into how many people have taken action on the same.

Revenue generating action

The tool also allows businesses to pay up only after they witness the desired result of having their prospects take action on their advertisements.

This enables them to save their finances which can then be launched other marketing campaigns or any other process that might seem fit.

Choice in devices

One of the most important advantages is that the Google allows firms to choose any device or devises of their choice to display their ads to.

You can deduce and analyze which device is likely to result in a higher conversion rate and choose make your choice accordingly.

How do you make use of them?

As a beginner it would be counterproductive to try the tool out without a set guide or instruction.

So, to ensure that you are not lead astray, here is a brief important pointers you need to bear in mind prior to advertising on Google.

Target Audience

Obviously, no marketing process would make any sense if you do not know who you are pitching it to. This is exactly researching and being aware of who your target audience is, is vital.

The diversity in the demographic gives one a wide variety of options to choose from, which can sometimes be overwhelming. Hence, at such a deadlock, it’s better to choose the set of people who wouldn’t be more receptive to the service or product offered.

For instance, if you are a business who sells sport apparel, then, it would be more suitable for you to target your ads and goals at athletes or the youth rather than the senior demographic of 70+.

This also applies to cultural and topographical differences. Are you specifically targeting citizens from a particular country or globally? Is it for people who live on colder regions or tropical ones?

Watch your finances

Getting your budget in order is another important step to consider. In fact it probably is more important than the rest. You can set everything up and be ready to launch your ads, but if you don’t have the money for it, you won’t be able to get started. Am I right?

But it doesn’t stop here. Fortunately you will only have to pay when your ads have been clicked on though prices will vary for each ad. Hence, it is necessary to plan just how much you are willing to spend on this.

Write compelling ads

This requires a little bit of mental work, but it will be totally worth it.

Writing ads demands that you use curiosity inducing words and phrases that will leave the prospects wanting for more.

To be honest though, this isn’t that difficult. Why? Well, because you have already done 70% percent of the job – knowing who your target audience is!

Once you know what makes them tick, you can work your way up from there.

There are plenty other tips to go by. But, for the sake of your sanity I’m going to stop this here and try not to overwhelm you. If you do consider these points then you are on a sure shot way to success. However, if you do have some trouble with it or are uncertain of which way to go, do feel free to reach out to us anytime.
